Jake is a GIS Research Assistant supporting WRI's Energy Access Explorer team in the Washington, DC (United States) office. He is involved in compiling, processing, and organizing geospatial datasets related to expanding energy access in developing countries, along with stakeholder outreach and program support.

Prior to joining WRI, Jake worked on several transportation related research projects in the Washington, DC area. He also has previous experience as a project manager in electronic medical records implementation.

Jake completed his B.A. in Geography and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and holds an M.A. in International Affairs at the Johns Hopkins University of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he concentrated in Energy, Resources, and Environment.

Jake lives in Washington, DC and enjoys riding his bicycle, playing soccer with friends, birdwatching, and finding new and interesting maps in his spare time.
