WASHINGTON, DC (February 16, 2022)– The World Bank and WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities invite the press to attend this year's all-virtual Transforming Transportation, one of the largest global events dedicated entirely to sustainable transport and development.

The global transport sector faces ongoing challenges amid the coronavirus pandemic and increased urgency for climate action. But there are also new opportunities emerging to create transport systems that are better for people and the planet. Transforming Transportation 2022 will bring together world leaders in sustainable mobility from the public, private, academic and civil society spheres to discuss the path forward.

Join us over two days of virtual events to engage with high-level policymakers, hear from cutting-edge thinkers, and explore solutions for countries and cities around the world. Speakers will include U.S. Secretary of Transportation皮特·巴特吉格(Pete Buttigieg), President of COP26Alok Sharma, Prime Minister of EgyptMostafa Madbouly, and many more. Sessions will address a range of critical topics, including reimagining public transport, reducing emissions, making micromobility safer, the new reality of freight, electric transport, and more. Events will be livestreamed in English, French, and Spanish.

For the first time, the 2022 edition of Transforming Transportation will offer a special session focused on the Asia-Pacific region, timed specifically for audiences in the region and livestreamed in English, Mandarin, and Russian.
